Craft Advent 21: The Busy Mamas Cookie Dough

A few weeks ago, Helen from The Busy Mamas posted a cookie recipe: three ingredients, delicious and simple. This Winter Solstice, with only a couple of days before Christmas, I am going to focus on quick and easy ideas, to gift and eat. This ticks both boxes, but you may not want to gift them once you taste them!

The recipe is here (on a really handy recipe card you could print out), just butter, sugar and flour! I made choc chip and quite delicious lemon and white chocolate, using lemon sugar that I had made rather than plain caster sugar (a recipe for that is here, as a tutorial that I was asked to contribute for the Wayfair.co.uk blog)

Helen also suggested, for a seasonal taste, you could try mixed spice, or, my favourite, orange and chocolate, yum yum!

ca21When the dough was made, I rolled it into a piece of greaseproof paper, twisting the ends, (top pic) and refrigerated it.

I wrapped a piece of paper around it, with instructions for baking (pic 2)

Then wrapped in paper and ribbon for gifting (pic 3 & 4)

These keep in the fridge for a week or two, so perfect if made now, and you always have something handy to either whip out and bake or gift as the roll of dough. Ingenious! Thank you Helen 🙂
