Welcome! I’m Emily, a writer, painter, sculptor, and illustrator.

I home educate our six children and with my husband Fergal, live with an assorted menagerie of animals and birds in a house I dreamt of and painted for two years before we ever knew it existed, in the Irish Midlands.

I am the designer and illustrator of the annual Book of Days, a limited edition journal which has become a collaborative family effort of collating and hand-binding every year (such fun, o husband and children, isn’t it? Isn’t it?!)

I welcome any and all suggestions and comments (except for those asking me to post more often… I’m trying… and failing… and trying!)
