With Christmas fast approaching, gift ideas for unique and interesting presents are always welcome, right? Last week I received a complimentary copy of this personalised Christmas book, “Sarah and Santa’s Irish Adventure”. These books are all Irish-produced: written, illustrated and printed by the company Digital Scribe in Wicklow. The hardest part of ordering this was deciding who I would give it to, so chose my niece and goddaughter, Sarah. I filled up a quick form which looks for details: where the child is from, the names of two siblings or friends and a photo, and emailed it back to the company. Within a few days I had it in my hands, a super fast service (it takes only up to 5 days once ordered)
Inside there is a scroll with an inscription from the sender, and there is also a personalised Santa letter with each book ordered.
This is a really lovely idea and the story is engaging (although I didn’t love the illustrations, I’m not mad on digital illustration) I think any child who receives this would be utterly delighted with the detail and being part of this magical story, featuring landmarks from all over Ireland.
The book is A4 in size. Super colourful on glossy heavy weight paper. My gripes would be that it is a little on the expensive side of things, retailing at 15.99 +p&p and it isn’t a hardback, as you would perhaps expect from that price.
The book can be purchased on the site www.digitalscribe.ie for €15.99 plus p&p.Their Facebook page is https://www.facebook.com/digitalscribe
Sounds like a great idea Emily. I’m sure little Sarah was chuffed to feature in her own publication!
