This week I took part, for the twentieth year in a row!, in the 35th Athy Art Exhibition. The opening night was on Tuesday last, and we drove up for a few hours. As always, it was a wonderful evening of fantastic art and great conversation. Myself, my dad and my two brothers, William and John, all artists, took part.
(Some of my dads beautiful paintings, just back from the framer, set up in the dining room to have a good look, post-framing!)
I exhibited three paintings:
“Deep skies threatened, but they walked:
all maudlin thoughts and brambles” (Mixed media on handmade paper):
“Can’t remember the when. Just
The sweet grasses and warmth and you” (Mixed media on handmade paper):
Oh, Emily, I feel like I could step into your paintings, they are full of levels and depth, they are truly fantastic. If I was forced to pick a favourite I would choose the one with the house on the side of the world which is so striking. I saw your dad’s latest blog post too, his paintings are also wonderful and I noticed that he has had paintings in every single year the exhibition has been on, wow. Ye are such a talented family and it’s so nice to hear about your dad’s work and that of your siblings too.
Thanks Joanna, from one artist to another 🙂
Such beautiful work, I can only imagine how lovely it would be in person! 🙂
Wow, your work is just beautiful. x
Beautiful paintings from yourself & your Dad.
LOVE your paintings and the descriptions are wonderful, they make the paintings even better if that’s possible. Imagine four members from one family all exhibiting together! It’s just incredible. Congratulations to you all, must be a lovely thing to see all your work displayed like that. Hope you get loads of adulation and buyers : )
