Once again joining Ginny for Yarn Along…
We have a ninety-two year old neighbour who crochets (she has dreadful arthritis and the movement helps her finger-mobility). She finds it really difficult to get started on a square, and so I make her some large squares in any leftover DK yarn I have (she doesn’t care about colour or anything… yet her blankets, made up of scraps always just look so lovely) So I have been working on a couple of squares this week to keep her going for a while!
The book is one my lovely mother gave me last Christmas,
(“Homemade” by Ros Badger and Elspeth thompson)
and it is one of those books that you just can never tire of looking at- recipes, ideas, patterns: everytime I open it, I see something new! I am thinking about making a table runner with a piece of vintage linen, so I have been looking in this for ideas and possibilities….
Check out the other lovely Yarn-Alongs here!
that is really nice square! I love the combination of those two colors 🙂 🙂 I’m crocheting a blanket myself – using all yarns I have in my stash 🙂 but I still need lots of squares to finish it…
the book sounds lovely – I’ll try to find it somewhere – I could use some inspiration like that 🙂
So sweet of you to help your neighbor. I knew I liked you!
hi! it’s me again 🙂
if you still want to swap a square or two with me (for the blanket) 🙂 could you send me an e-mail? -so we could figure everything out 🙂 it would be really awesome to have one of your squares in my blanket 🙂 it will be so international 😀 when I finally finish it ! 😀
thanks 🙂
