A good while ago, friends of ours sent a (very exciting) parcel all the way across the world in the US of A; it included t-shirt paint and t-shirts, and so I kept them stashed away for “the right moment” which appeared last week. And like everything we seem to do, (feast or famine), not just one, but several t-shirts and vests were treated to the painterly treatment
(I love that Grace just fired away whilst the boys had a long discussion before the paint lid was taken off!!)
(big brothers are hugely helpful…)
(It took all my self control to not grab the paint off them, and start painting!!)
A really super and absorbing morning was had by all (and our wardrobe now has a few couture pieces!!)
Plenty of painting happening here… and despite/because of the rain, more rain and constant rain, the colour and green in the garden is just incredible.
Inspired no end by:
Wild geraniums… ahh, I love them!;
I “borrowed” a flower press from the little ones to press some wild geraniums; my second attempt as the first lot were presented to me glued to a card 2 hours after I put them in
Not sure what I will do with them once pressed (if they last the length of time in there…) but I have a few ideas…
I’ve been writing blogposts in my head for several weeks now… none of them quite managing to get from (addled) brain to here… Much work going on, painting and more painting; all part of a Grand Plan.
Almost a year ago (eeekk) I was planning world domination (with plenty of evil cackles): “a nest of handmade loveliness, delightful goodies, art and other objects of gorgeousness. It will be small. It will be perfect. It will be like the most perfectly stocked Craft-Fair table imaginable” Well, that is still the plan, albeit several months later, and despite many forks along the road that I had not forseen, I am in the process of making a little website and shop and (yet another) blog (blog-building: it’s an Obsessive-Compulsive thing)
I am not quite ready to share it just yet; but here are some photos of happenings around here the past few weeks:
(I frequently paint with plenty of company… an exercise in paint-supplies boundaries)
In between deluges, we went for a walk down the boreen yesterday.After torrential and persistent rain, coupled with warm humidity, it was green, green, green! And wildly overgrown… we have never seen it so verdant before.
I’m praying the rain will stop; I’m sick of mountains of wet trousers for washing and drying, wet shoes, socks…
little boys running around in the heat getting soaked in the rain…
…having to do Olympic sprints through knee high wet grass, in between showers, to stand and look at cows…!!
